The Living Wall

The Living Wall
Russia based graffiti artist Nomerz has a way with faces. Transforming structures into massive portraits, Nomerz changes the urban landscape into unexpected faces that reimagine their surroundings into giant pink faced expressions of joy, anger, excitement, and contemplation. Streaming Books Installations

Streaming Books Installations
The Spain-based artist Alicia Martin's sculptural installation at Casa de America, Madrid depicts a cavalcade of books streaming out of the side of a building. The whirlwind of literature defies gravity and draws attention with its grandeur size. There have been three site-specific installations, thus far, of the massive sculptural works in this series known as Biografias, translated as Biographies, that each feature approximately 5,000 books sprawled out around and atop one another.

The 3D street Art illusions

The 3D street artist IHSAN from Argentina has created optical illusions around the globe. There's a certain life-like quality to the visuals he produces, because of their three-dimensional appearance, yet he maintains an illustrative aesthetic.

The unusual illusions are even more interesting as real people and animals interact with them, breathing life into the pieces. The balance between surreal imagery and realism that Rolero has attained is really noteworthy.

Spectacular Long Exposures of Streaking Fireworks

Gurbir Grewal is a 19-year-old full time student from Vancouver, BC and he is also the one behind these stunning long exposure photograph of fireworks streaking through the sky that were taken this past Halloween. "Fireworks were banned in my hometown and I haven't been able to buy them nor light them since I was a kid," he said. "Finally having moved out to a different city where they are allowed, I just had to get some photos!"

"They were essentially spur-of-the-moment photographs," he tells us. "These images came out of some nostalgic memories of Halloween from when I was a kid and Diwali [Festival of Lights] also, for that matter."
In the future, Grewal hopes to move into developing portraiture and he even has as a short film in the works. He's inspired by multiple photographers such as Nigel Perry, Annie Leibovitz, and Richard Avedon as well as the Flickr community in general.

Supernatural Moon Nightlight

This captivating lamp designed by Nosigner (Eisuke Tachikawa) represents the Super Moon, the biggest full moon in a cycle of 18 years. After the tragic earthquake in Japan, many of the Japanese prayed to the Super Moon for hope. According to Nosigner, this lamp is a symbol of the moon's "light of hope".

This lunar lamp is composed of LED lights and is an accurate presentation of the moon. In fact, the lamp is based off of the lunar orbiter, Kaguya's 3D topographic data of the moon.
